Repeating knotwork, constructed by geometry and group theory. Palettes designed with care for vibrant patterns.
Tradition's woven balance, reworked through contemporary colour, scale and joy.
Celtic interlace — intricate, timeless, endlessly woven.
The seventeen wallpaper groups give every repeat its true symmetry.
Every collection rooted in a real place — walked, photographed, and translated into knotwork through its own palette.
Six knotwork wallpapers named for Bristol places, unified by one palette anchored on the brand teal — a curated set, each design led by its own colour. Wallpaper is where Knotworthy begins; the same patterns will move onto more surfaces and products over time.
Cream — Georgian elegance, luminous and restrained
Terrace violet — bohemian, colourful terraces
Harbour grey — the harbourside
Brandon green — the city's oldest park
Bath stone — the exuberant rainbow houses
Deep teal — the river, deepest and most saturated
Knotworthy was founded by Justin Roughley, a designer from Bristol who loves exploring repeating patterns — and especially Celtic knotwork.
He brings art and mathematics together in intricate designs that feel both timeless and modern. The repeating knotwork is constructed by geometry and group theory; the palettes designed with care for vibrant patterns. The result is modern Celtic — knotwork that holds onto its tradition of woven balance, but reworked through contemporary colour, scale and joy.
